Toronto is vast to say the least: when you’re looking for a place to eat, you’ve got so many choices you could practically swim in their menus. Now if you know whether you’re looking for the "same-old-stuff" or a zesty new treat, you may whittle the list down a bit. One thing is for sure, if you’re looking for Indian food, Etobicoke (found right outside of Toronto), hands down, has the best Indian restaurant. Toronto has the advantage of offering everything a major city has as well as easy access to the "mom and pop" type restaurants and shops in the northern suburbs. When visiting Etobicoke for cuisine, especially Indian cuisine, there is one clear choice: Chutney’s.
Chutney’s is the best Indian restaurant in town that has been made locally famous with its excellent food, cheap specials and stellar service. They offer delivery and take out for those who aren’t interested in spending a long time wining and dining, but if you are so inclined, the interior is beautiful. Adornments furnish every corner of the room and you’ll be at no loss for gorgeous scenery when awaiting your meal at Chutneys. Service is outstanding too. Waiters will diligently mind your drinks and check back after your first few succulent bites to ensure that everything went according to plan and that this is the best food you’ve tasted (let alone best Indian food). Specials are available ranging from the happy hour between four and five when all meals are available at a whopping thirty-five percent off to a free entire meal-sized chicken tandoori with purchases over seventy dollars. Regardless of what you’re looking for, Chutney’s has a great special on which you can rely. Lastly, a little tidbit about the food at Chutneys – if you’re looking for a more ‘westerner-friendly’ entrée that won’t leave your mouth steaming as some of their dishes can do, try the Beef Bhuna which features tomatoes, onions and garlic. Not every dish is spicy but all of Chutney’s dishes are delectable. Another fantastic meal that isn’t too spicy is the Zafrani Gosht which makes use of saffron and the gravy of cashew nuts to flavor large, stew-sized pieces of lamb cooked to perfection. A spicy dish for those with brave hearts and iron stomachs: Murgh Kalimirch which is chicken in black pepper and onion gravy prepared as spicily as you can handle.
All in all, there are indeed a lot of great restaurants around Toronto. For a unique taste to the Toronto area, try Chutney’s which is acclaimed to be the best Indian restaurant. Toronto may have other places that serve Indian but none are as renowned or delicious as Chutney’s. The word itself, chutney means a side dish that is served with the main course that is supposed to be nibbled on (which is hard at Chutney’s because they’re so good) as to enhance the subtle flavors of the main course. Everything at Chutney’s is fabulous and will certainly compliment the rest of your day.
